This year has been travel-filled. A lot spontaneous trips were lined up the past few months which are either personal or for work, nonetheless I enjoy both. On the other hand, in Manila most of my time are spent on errands or the usual blogger work – events, meetings, photoshoots, etc. There’s not really much rest for me in the city, you’ll either find me in events, photoshoots, and the like, or at home typing out a new blog post, editing videos / photos for the gram, or daydreaming about my next travels.
With only a few days left before finally bidding the country farewell for about half a month, I’ve decided to give myself a chance to rest. During the weekend of my last week which was Nov 11-12, I was hosted to stay at The Picasso Hotel in Makati, just a few blocks away from my house. I checked in a bit early so I could settle instantly and think of what to do for the day. Upon entering my room, I was surprised how spacious it was. There were even vegan snacks by the work desk with a personalized note, plus complimentary drinks by the mini bar. 5 minutes of observation, I was already stunned.
I asked my best friend, Michael Macalos of contemporaryboy.com to join me during my quick stay in the hotel. We always hang out and not seeing him for 15 days or more is something that doesn’t happen often. The original plan was to work together, finish deadlines, brainstorm about new possible work strategies and shoot content. When we’re together, we work as a team and usually we accomplish so much in just an hour but this time we ended up lounging in our room, relaxed, and at peace. So instead of being productive we were very chill for once. There’s this homey vibe in Picasso where you just feel like staying in, not thinking about work or anything that might cause anxiety. After hours of just laying down in bed, watching movies, and snacking on some of their vegan complimentary snacks, Michael and I decided to go to the gym to end the night.
Sometimes doing nothing is not as bad. It’s okay to give yourself a break from work once in a while. Too much work can drain you, give yourself a day or two to regain energy. Picasso did just that, with their tranquil rooms, inspiring interior, and not to mention their mini museum. Never thought I’d be in peace when in the city.

Here’s a quick review for everyone’s reference:
Rooms are very spacious, clean, and interiors are also on point. Very Instagram worthy if you’re looking for somewhere to take photos.
Food is also good. I only tried their food during breakfast but it was fantastic.
Service is great! I did not have any problems with the staffs, all are very accommodating and polite.
Amenities they have almost everything except a pool. But then, they have a mini museum and that’s a bonus.
Location is very convenient. It’s near malls and good restaurants around the place. Very easy to find as well.
